Role of NAD+ in Anti-Aging and Cancer Therapies

 To respond to the cellular damage in cancer patients, the human body must synthesize NAD+. Extracellular NAD+ can be consumed to fine-tune immune responses and regulate anti-tumour T-cell response. In the same study, NAD+ has been shown to contribute to cellular capacity to tolerate oxidative stress.  

Also, the production of ROS increases as NAD+ declines with age. It promotes the accumulation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) that leads to reprogramming of metabolism and death of healthy cells.
